I wanted to create something that people would really
enjoy and would inspire them to feel positive about
life and about themselves.
yoga & you is
not only fantastic exercise, it offers you the opportunity
to experience a feeling of balance,
harmony and wellbeing.
yoga & you provides
an escape from the stresses of your daily routine,
a little respite from a hectic
schedule and your every day anxieties, a chance to
forget
about work, children, cooking, cleaning and the shopping: a time to spend on
YOU.
When I began planning the programme
I felt it was important to create an atmosphere of
calm and tranquillity. I envisaged
deserted beaches, woodland
glades, clear blue skies, deep red sunsets, flickering candles, and soothing
music. Images that make the world stop and make everyone feel uplifted.
We filmed yoga & you in Ibiza which provides a
beautiful setting for the exercise sequences. yoga & you has been designed to meet your needs,
whether you are
a beginner or a more experienced practitioner in need of guidance with your
home practise. It is easy and clear to follow as I guide you step by step
through the postures and breathing.
yoga & you is a workout for everyone,
regardless of age, capability, size or experience. The programme has been
divided into 5 sections which focus
on finding
our inner and outer strengths

warm up harmonising breath and movement for any
time of day
- Taking control …..An
intense yet calming floor sequence
- Inner Strength…Standing
postures which harmonise strength and confidence
- Finding Balance..A flowing,
uplifting sequence
- Tranquility…..Peace
and relaxation
So if you haven’t time for a full session you
can still benefit from a shorter practise.
My philosophy is that a little
is better than none at all. I devised the sequences
under the guidance of my teacher Janet Kaye who has been a British Wheel
of Yoga Instructor for 15 years.
We practise Hatha Yoga, which employs physical postures
and breathing exercises.
It is the form most commonly practised in the West.
Janet appears with me in the programme .We are joined
by Megan who is also training to become a yoga teacher
with the British Wheel of Yoga. She has
also been my
hairdresser for the last seven years. |
