Zoe Tate arrived in Emmerdale
on 12th December. She was studying to become a vet.
She was part of the wealthy
Tate Family: father Frank Tate, Brother Christopher
and step mother KimTate.

Zoe’s brother Chris
is kidnapped and held captive for several weeks.
Zoe tracks down the kidnapper
and shoots him, only to discover later she has killed
her own secret half brother Liam.

girlfriend, Charity Dingle the ex-prostitute.
Zoe’s mental health
deteriorates. She burns down the church. After a
prolonged illness
she is diagnosed
as having schizophrenia. She is sectioned under the
Mental Health Act.
While she is ill she becomes
pregnant. She has no recollection of how it happened
or who the father could be.
She decides to give the
baby up for adoption.
Zoe gives birth to a baby girl.
She calls her Jean after her late mother.
At the last moment, Zoe realises
she cannot be parted from her child. She decides
to keep baby Jean. It is
the best day of her life.
Chloe, the nanny, nearly kills
Jean in an accident at Home Farm.
Zoe discovers that Scott Windsor,
the local mechanic, is the father of her child.
Zoe’ s brother Chris
reveals that he has a brain tumour. He dies leaving
Zoe to believe that Charity, his wife murdered him.
Zoe seeks revenge.
